In the previous article, we shared the “Operation Method of 433 Oscillating Knife Cutting Machine”, which mainly explained the four elements of processing graphics: setting operation number, processing sequence, starting point position and direction, and close to zero coordinates.

In today’s article, we will share with you three characteristics of knives. Whether you use electric cutting tools, pneumatic cutting tools, bevel cutting tools, etc., pay attention to these three elements.

Of course, before formally explaining the three elements of the knife, we have to emphasize one point to everyone – the cutting blade must be installed correctly. We will share this with you in a later article.

3 elements to pay attention to when using cutting tools:

01. Set the correct cutting depth;
So how do you set the correct depth of cut?
The so-called correct cutting depth is that the tool just cuts through the material during the cutting process, but the damage to the felt table is minimal.
When we set the data of the cutting depth, we can lay out a piece of A4 paper and place it under the cutter. Then, we click “adjust” on the operation panel, and then select the corresponding operation number according to the cutting tool we want to use.
Then we can set the descending range of the tool, click the drop button, and observe the distance between the blade and the worktable. When the distance is very small, we need to reduce the descending range of the tool.
When we find that the blade has touched the paper, we can pull the paper to see if the blade can just cut through the paper, and adjust the depth of the knife according to the situation. When we find that the paper will be scratched, we can click “√” to save the data. At this time, the cutting depth of the cutter is set.

02. To set the appropriate cutting speed according to the thickness and hardness of the material;
After we finish setting the cutting depth of the tool, we start to set the cutting speed.
We click the “Speed” button to enter the speed setting interface, we can set its straight line cutting speed, acceleration, curve speed, small circle cutting speed and the speed of the tool falling and lifting according to the type of tool.
We first need to set the linear cutting speed according to the hardness and thickness of the material, and then set the cutting speed of curves and small circles according to the speed, because their two speeds are set according to the percentage of the linear speed. The speed of the curve is 60% of the straight line speed, and the speed of cutting small circles is 30% of the straight line speed.
Another point is very important, we need to set the diameter data of a small circle, why? Because only when the circle we cut is smaller than the diameter, the operating system will automatically adjust the speed of the small circle for cutting.
In addition, we must also pay attention to the setting of the falling and lifting speed of the tool. When the material is particularly hard, we need to reduce the falling speed of the tool to increase the time for the tool to penetrate to avoid damage to the blade.

03. To set the correct cutting compensation according to the shape of the blade;
Why set cutting compensation data? Because each blade has a width, we need to eliminate the width of the blade itself by setting compensation parameters to achieve high-precision cutting.

We click “Confing” on the operation panel, and then we will see “Down Extend” and “Up Extend” behind the corresponding cutting tool. We only need to fill in the corresponding data here, and then the tool can be compensated.
So what do “Down Extend” and “Up Extend” mean? It is a set of parameters set according to the cutting characteristics of the cutter. When the cutter is in the cutting process, in order to ensure that the blade always faces the direction of cutting, the cutter will be lifted or lowered repeatedly. “Down Extend” means that when the cutter cuts The compensation parameter when cutting through the material, “Up Extend” refers to the compensation parameter when the tool is lifted up.

03. To set the correct cutting compensation according to the shape of the blade;

So, how to set the cutting compensation of the blade?

First, we place a piece of processing material under the material, then we click the “Adjust” button, and then click the counterclockwise arrow in the lower left corner, the machine will cut a block counterclockwise, and then we can view the cutting effect, And measure the overcut size of the tool drop point and lift point, and then fill in the data.

In this way, we have completed the setting of the three elements of the oscillating knife cutting tool.
